A family business

Operating for over 20 years, H2X Contracting Ltd. is a local, family-owned business delivering quality hydro-excavation services to a range of public and private sector projects on Vancouver Island.

Brothers Kevin and Richard Harold established H2X in 2003, and incorporated the business in 2007. Kevin and Richard gained valuable experience in the industry as long-time, valued employees of the leading hydro excavation company in Western Canada. Together with Kevin’s wife, Genevieve, and a family of dedicated staff, along with a fleet of 18 hydro vac units—today they deliver consistently professional, friendly and reliable hydro vac services to island communities.

Kevin started H2X in 2003 with the BC Hydro pole and anchor hole digging contract for Victoria, Duncan, and the South Gulf Islands, and has held this contract continuously since.

In 2007, Genevieve founded a traffic control company, Flaggirls Traffic Control Inc. to service southern Vancouver Island. In 2011, she sold Flaggirls, leaving 100 employees servicing Victoria to Campbell River to focus on managing all aspects of the office administration of H2X.

Richard joined H2X in 2011 and manages the daily operations of the vacuum truck services, while Kevin focuses on consulting with BC Hydro and managing projects.
